Beach Overview of Maines Beaches at the Atlantic Coast from the north to the south:

Arcadia Nationalpark:
There are three beaches at the Arcadia National Park. Swimming is only possible at one of these beaches. During the season*, an entrance fee is charged at the Arcadia National Park. The entrance is valid for seven days (as at: Mai 2010). The “America the Beautiful - Interagency Annual Pass” (formerly known as: “National Parks Pass”) is valid at the Arcadia National Park.

 Early October - 31. October: $10.-

 

 

 

Sand Beach - The Sand Beach is a beautiful sandy beach, located at a scenic bay. Sand Beach is the only beach at the Arcadia National Park where you can swim in the Atlantic Ocean. Changing Rooms and restrooms are provided at the Sand Beach.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Otter Cove Beach - The sandy beach at the Otter Cove is located in a curve of the park road of the Arcadia National Park. No parking lot is available. Parking spaces are only available along the roadside. The Otter Cove Beach can’t be used for a day at the beach.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Little Hunters Beach - The Little Hunters Beach consists of lots of pebble stones. No parking lot is available. Parking spaces are only available along the roadside. The Little Hunters Beach can’t be used for a day at the beach

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Seal Harbor Beach:
The beach at the city of Pine Point is rather small and located next to the road. Small stones are lying at the sand beach of the Seal Harbor Beach. The small parking lot has only a limited number of parking spaces. A sign reminds that swimming at this beach is at your own risk.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Portland East End Beach:
The East End Beach at Portland isn’t located at a pretty place. Lots of stones are lying in the sand of Portlands East End Beach. Restrooms are provided at this beach. No parking fee is charged at the East End Beach (as at: Mai 2010).

 

 

 

 

 

Crescent Beach State Park:
At the beach of the Crescent Beach State Park there are small stones, small shells, washed up parts of plants and wood lying in the sand. Rocks are also situated in the water of the Atlantic Ocean and in the fine sandy beach. A playground, a large parking lot and restrooms are provided at the Crescent Beach State Park. the entrance fee resp. the parking fee is $6.-. The entrance fee for Residents of Maine is $4,50.- (as at: Mai 2010).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Scarborough Beach State Park:
The beach at the Scarborough Beach is a leveled grey sandy beach with small waves. Small stones and small shells are lying in the sand. A snack bar and restrooms are provided at the Scarborough State Park. The gate to the Scareborough Beach State Park is only open during the opening hours. Make sure to leave the Scarborough Beach State Park before closing time! The parking fee resp. the entrance fee is $4,50.- (cash only) at the Scarborough Beach State Park (as at: Mai 2010).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Pine Point Beach (Albion Hurd Municipal Park of Scarborough):
Pine Point Beach is located north of the city of Old Orchard Beach. At the beach of the Pine Point Beach there are small stones and washed up parts of plants lying in the sand. A snack bar and restrooms are provided at this beach. The entrance fee resp. the parking fee at the Pine Point Beach is $10.- (as at: Mai 2010). A limited number of free parking spaces are located at the Jones Creek Road.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Old Orchard Beach:
Old Orchard Beach issituated south of the city of Portland. The beach at the Old Orchard Beach is a leveled yellow sandy beach. The beach at Old Orchard Beach is one of the best beaches in Maine. The beach is several miles long and one of the most popular beaches in the state of Maine. The waves are small at the beach at the city of Old Orchard Beach. An amusement park is located next to the beach in Old Orchard Beach. Restrooms are provided at this beach. Some free parking spaces are available. Additional parking spaces are available. A parking fee is charged at these parking spaces (as at: Mai 2010).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Biddeford Pool:

 

 

 

Western Beach Access - There are small stones and parts of plants lying in the sand of this beach in Biddeford Pool. Beginning on June 15, a parking permit is required at this beach (as at: Mai 2010).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Eastern Beach Access - There are small stones and parts of plants lying in the sand of this beach in Biddeford Pool. Beginning on June 15, a parking permit is required at this beach (as at: Mai 2010).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Kennebunkport Beach:
At the beach in Kennebunkport Beach there are small stones and parts of plants lying in the sand of the beach. From June 15 until September 15, a parking permit is required at this beach (as at: Mai 2010).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Drakes Island Beach:
At the sandy beach at the Drake Island Beach, there are pebble Stones lying in the sand. This beach is rather small. Restrooms are provided at the Drake Island Beach. The entrance fee resp. the parking fee is $15.- at the Drake Island Beach (as at: Mai 2010).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ogunquit Beach:
Restrooms are provided at the Ogunquit Beach. A parking fee is charged at the parking lot at the Oqunquit Beach (as at: Mai 2010).
