The Beachranking to Americas Best Beaches:

Each year, we create a ranking of the best beaches in the USA. Every year, the beachranking from BeachUSA.info lists the Top 10 beaches of the USA and the Top 5 beaches of selected regions of the USA. The regional beachrankings are created for the Atlantic Coast, California, Florida, the Great Lakes, the Gulfcoast, Hawaii and the Pacific Coast. The current beachranking and the beachrankings of the last years are available at BeachUSA.info.

Beachranking Criterias:

The beach ranking from BeachUSA.info is based on various beach criterias. These beach ranking criterias are based on the criterias, that ensure a relaxing and pleasant day at the beach.

Criterias Overview:

Beach Consistance:
The beach consistance includes the quality of the beach. Whether the beach is stony, rocky or sandy. More criterias are  corals, stones and rocks, that are situated under the water.

Beach Infrastructure:
An other criteria is the infrastructure of the beach. We evaluate for example if there are lifeguards, showers, restrooms, rental of beach equipment, snack bars / restaurants and adequate parking spaces available. The entrance- and parking fees that are charged at the beach also belong to this criteria.

Beach Location:
The location of the beach is important. Industrial areas, nearby roads and other facilities (e.g. a landfill) have a negative impact on the beach.

Visual Impression:
Part of the visual impression of the beach are trash that is located in the sand, parts of plants that are washed ashore, excrements from animals and dead animals. Bad smells, moskitos and clouds of flies also belong to this criteria.  We also take a look at the visual impression of the water (e.g. if the water looks dirty).

Beach Security:
The security of the beach is an important issue. Part of this criteria is wether there are lifeguards at the beach, if the beach can easily be reached by the emergency rescue, if there are warning signs at the beach and the normal size of the waves at this beach (the actual size of the waves depends on various factors and can change dramatically).
